SloGrass has been performing, and recording, music for 30 years. Our instrumentation is Bluegrass, but our music digs into a number of different traditions; both musical and cultural. Take a trip with us through time and rhyme. Enjoy the gifts from songwriters and cultures of the last 2 centuries. Travel back into the 19th century with songs like Aunt Dinah's Quilting Party, John Henry and When You And I Were Young, Maggie. Travel to other continents with songs from the Gypsy Jazz songbook. Hear us cover a couple of Gypsy Kings songs, or the Mexican bolero, Sabor a Mi.
We love classic American Songbook gems: Please Don't Talk About Me When I'm Gone, Don't Get Around Much Anymore, Nevertheless, I'm in Love with You, and Bye Bye Blackbird. We love to cover blues classics: Crossroad Blues, One Kind Favor, Blues Stay Away From Me, and Death Letter Blues. We love songs from the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Bob Marley, Merle Travis and Johnny Cash. We love to cover songs written by women: Kimberly M'Carver, Nina Rota, Nina Gordon, June Carter and Diane Kordas.
You can here the recorded music from all 4 of our CDs here.
